Karen Kiley-Lead Singer
Karen is a
singer/songwriter with many years of experience in the
studio and singing with bands. She has been with the
Retrorockets since the beginning, is married to our bass
player Mike and has just released her new CD of original
songs.

Mike Kiley-CEO and
bassist
Unofficially dubbed the
“Rock-n-Roll CEO” Mike is a businessman by day, and
rock-n-roll bassist by night. Mike’s passion is music and
when you come to a Retrorockets show you’ll hear that
passion played out in pulsating bass rhythms. Mike is also
the loving husband to The Retrorocket’s Lead Singer, Karen
Kiley. Together, Mike and Karen share a mutual love for
music, and for one another.

Doug Fox-band leader,
percussion, trumpet,
vocals.
Have you ever heard a
trumpet Rock? You will when you come to a Retrorocket’s show
and witness the venerable Doug Fox on horns. Doug will stick
that rubberized plunger thingie on his trumpet bell and
crank out rockin solos. Doug is a highly acclaimed musician
playing with famous acts such as Barry Manilow, Doc
Severenson and Neil Diamond. He is the Retrorocket’s band
leader and together with Justin Gruby on sax, he forms the ˝
of the Mighty Retrorockets Horns!!!

Scott Abelson (Bongoman)-percussion,
harmonica, vocals.
Bongoman is one of the
founding members of the band.
All of the
multi-instruments that Bongoman plays are self taught. His
feel for the different genres of music that the band plays
and the ability to "season" each one with soulful blues,
Latin passion, or Jazzy cool makes Bongoman a musician that
gives the Retrorockets their unique sounds and styling.
Scott works in the diagnostic imaging industry selling
service and equipment.

Tim Williams-drums,
sound
Drum chop-miester, Tim
Williams is also a sound tech genius. Tim has been living
the rock and roll life since day #1. In addition to his long
standing gig with The Retrorockets, Tim has been a highly
sought after drummer for bands such as Other Brother
Darrell, Radio Mango and North Star. His versatile array of
drumming techniques can go from smooth jazz accompaniment to
a thundering rock apocalypse!! Tim is the heart and soul of
Retrorocket’s rock-n-roll.

Randy Glancy-keyboards
Name a tune and 9 times
out of 10 Randy Glancy can skillfully cover it on keys.
Randy is an accomplished musician playing for theaters,
bands and orchestras throughout the
Chicagoland area. And even though he did so before the days
of electrical amplification of keyboard instruments, Randy
graduated from Augustana College with a degree in Music.
Come hear Randy exhibit his musical chops at a Retrorockets
show soon!!!

Dave Szczniak-guitar,
vocals
Hailing from Griffith,
Indiana, Dave Szcniak (pronounced sez-nee-ack) is the one
and only Retrorocket-Hoozier. In addition to his Hoozier
fame, Dave is a dedicated rock n roll guitarist and singer.
With heroes such as Stevie Ray Vaughn and Carlos Santana,
you can bet that Dave puts on one helluva blistering guitar
performance with The Retrorockets. Come to a Retrorockets
show and check out Dave covering Santana’s Oye Como Va. Note
for guitar note, it’s a sweet and soulful tribute to the man
Carlos himself.

Justin Gruby-saxophone,
percussion
By day, Justin Gruby is a
chiropractic physician. On stage with The Retrorockets,
Justin pumps out ultra groovy jazz and rock saxophone licks
with energy and attitude. Playing sax since his childhood,
Justin demonstrates his tremendous chops playing soprano,
alto, tenor and even baritone sax. His riffing pulsates with funk
and tone, while his solos are smooth expressions of his
improvisational virtuosity. Justin and his wife
Ellen reside in Evanston, Illinois. Catch them at a
Retrorockets show this summer.

Ryan Domke-Sound
Most bands do sound by
having one of the musicians double as the “sound man.” Not
so with The Retrorockets. Ryan Domke is at the sound board
FULL TIME during a Retrorocket’s show. This means the band’s
sound is dialed in perfectly to fit your audience and your
venue. In addition, Ryan’s inventory of sound equipment is
truly immense in VERSATILITY AND POWER!! The Retrorockets,
Ryan Domke can provide sound for anything from a small
private club room, to a theater and even to an outdoor venue
as large as Soldier’s Field. And if your electrical service
needs supplemental power, Ryan can call on
“The Juice Box”;
The Retrorocket’s 85,000 watt, whisper quiet, diesel powered
electric generator.

Bill Protine-Guitar
Bill Protine is a
carpenter by day and musician always. He was a recording
engineer and studio artist in the Christian music field and
has appeared on several nationally released titles. He has
also worked with some of the members of Prince's band on two
projects. His passion for playing music makes him a welcome
addition to our group. It will be a great summer!!!!
